Date Being Summarized: 28 May 1995

An upper low lifted into the Great Lakes area, but considerable troughing
hung back over the central rockies. A moderately strong upper jet stretched
from San Diego east across southern NM and central OK, and northeastward to
lower MI. At the surface, a front stalled across southern central and
northeastern TX, with cool and stable air dominating much of the VORTEX
area. Convection developed over southwestern TX during the afternoon, with
one storm becoming a tornadic supercell just north of San Angelo TX. Other
thunderstorms developed during the evening across eastern NM, eventually
spreading into western TX overnight. Branick
