Date Being Summarized:  04 June 1995

Shortwave and weakening upper level jet came across central Plains during day.
Deep moisture (850 Td > 16) covered the SW portion of VORTEX, carried 
northward on a strong low-level jet. Combined with absence of cap, strong
convection began early in the day and continued across W and N Texas.  
Storms produced tornadoes and up-to-baseball-sized hail over the SW portion 
of the VORTEX domain in the mid-afternoon.
